Part of the bank’s written, five-year strategic plan is to “increase market share by making strategic hires.” This month, we added Shad Robinson to our team as a creative execution of that strategy. While his credentials and experience as a corporate attorney and law partner are top flight, it is his emotional intelligence that will make him a great banker. See the article welcoming him to our Alliance family.
Another strategic hire in 2017 is in the board spotlight, Ricky Thompson. Ricky is a great banker-- a proven leader, competitor and team player. He is passionate about serving customers and driving financial results for the bank, but it never comes at the expense of collaboration with the team. Our bankers value his experience, judgment and the fact that he respects others in the process. And, we have a lot of fun along the way. It makes for a great culture, and Ricky is a big part of that.

In the Financial Update, you will see that the bank is approaching $500 million in assets, having started at $35 million at the end of 2007. Most notable is Operating Income which is up 97% from last year. A big part of that growth is our shareholders who bank with us, and refer their friends and peers. Keep them coming and watch your investment grow!

Welcome Shad Robinson
We are proud to welcome Shad Robinson as general counsel and commercial relationship manager, effective October 18. Robinson brings a wealth of legal and financial knowledge to the Alliance Bank team. He has been an attorney in Waco for over two decades, with extensive experience representing financial institutions.

Zach Saathoff joined the Alliance Bank team in 2015 as network administrator. He is a firm believer in having a common, big-picture goal to keep everyone is moving in the same direction. He's an avid cyclist with a bucket list dream to compete in Race Across America, a 120 day, 3,000 mile bicycle race from California to Maryland. He's also a unicyclist, and owns two!

Entrepreneurs Lacy and Brandon Hodges dreamed of owning a few different types of businesses over the years, but the founding of Gathering Oaks Retreat surpasses them all. The couple saw the potential of a beautiful piece of property, nestled under the serene oak trees of Crawford, Texas; so they rolled up their sleeves and transformed something old, into something quite special. Complete with onsite lodging for 50 and 30 acres of beautiful outside space, the retreat offers a place for friends, family or colleagues can gather, retreat and stay.
