The Bank Note - December 2021

Connecting with Shareholders of Alliance Bank Central Texas

December 2021

Message from Todd Moore

A few years ago the gentleman in charge of our external loan review team told me, “This bank sure has a lot of good customers.” People in his position usually are not prone to throw around compliments, so it kind of surprised me. I thanked him and said I had not really thought about it in simplistic terms, but I agreed, we really do. I was reminded of that conversation when I saw the Business Spotlight this month. Cameron Goss and Bowen Electric really fit that bill. During the record freeze and ice storm at the beginning of the year we lost our backup generator. Cameron and his team rallied to help us keep the bank operating and processing items overnight. Had we not been able to do that, many of our customers could not have used their debit cards for essential items to get them through the storm.  Thanks again, Cameron!

The Employee Spotlight shines on Mayra Gutierrez. Her professional journey with us is one of my favorite stories. Starting as a teller, she went back to college to get her business degree while working full time, and is now a loan officer with a loyal customer following. A University High School grad, she told me that she could have been voted “the most unlikely person to become a bank officer." She added, “If they could only see me now, they’d be shocked!” She is a great banker and we are proud to have her on our team.

Congratulations to three of our stars who received officer promotions in December. Lety, Heather and Ivan are all key to our bank’s high performance.  Day in and day out they produce at a high level to help customers and support their teams with whatever needs doing, whenever it needs doing.

Speaking of rock stars, check out The Board Spotlight. Scott has made a huge impact ever since he started as a part-time credit analyst at our previous bank. As chief lending officer, board member, and member of senior staff, Scott makes us a better bank each and every day.

As you can see, we have a lot going on at the bank.  And, we have some new announcements coming in 2022 to be excited about.  But, for the remainder of this year we pause to be thankful and reflect.  Thanks for all you do to help us, and to help each other.

If you need anything, banking or otherwise, give us a call,  hit us up at AskAlliance@alliancebanktexas.com or give me a call on my cell at 254-722-2300.

Employee Spotlight

Mayra Gutierrez, loan officer,  joined the Alliance Bank team in 2009 as a teller. She credits the organization's investment in employee professional development for her advancement to loan officer. She loves what she does, confessing that it really doesn't even feel like work when you are having so much fun! When she's not at work having fun, she's having fun beating her boys at video games.
