Through the efforts of a great team and guidance from our board, 2020 was the best year in the bank’s history financially. Loans were up 22%, assets up 16% and deposits up 16%. Net Income Pre-tax and Provision (to the allowance account for loan growth) was $3.4 million, 17% more than last year. Net Income of $2.4 million was 12% more than in 2019.
Entrepreneurship has become culturally fashionable in recent years. But, as many of you know first-hand, in practice it is simply a lot of hard work and risk taking. The Business Spotlight sits down with Jesse Blackwell about his latest investment, Kids R Kids, which will open this year right around the corner from our Archway location in Woodway. Jesse is a proven business professional and operator. He’s been successful in many ventures and we look forward to seeing this one take flight as well. His “come up” story is truly inspiring. We will do an AskAlliance segment with him to share it soon!
Michael Reed is the focus of 20 Questions this week. He’s one of those hires who showed up when we were not looking to fill a spot and simply wouldn’t go away! Lucky for us, we made a spot and he has really excelled. He does much of the credit analysis we use to support commercial lending. It takes a special skillset to do that job and boy, does Michael have it--he makes us a better bank each day!

Waco native and entrepreneur Jesse Blackwell is committed to helping meet the needs of our community. His most recent project, Kids R Kids Woodway, will bring premier preschool education to Woodway and surrounding areas.
