MAY 2020

Message from Todd Moore

I am happy to report that your bank continues to grow and prosper. We have been busy in 2020! Take a look at the financial update for more details.

If you have not had the opportunity to come in to our new location in Woodway, you have missed meeting one of our brightest and best, Yolanda. She is highlighted in the “20 Questions in 60 Seconds” feature this month. We have a saying around here- “that’s the spirit!”  Yolanda exemplifies that attitude in everything she does. She is always helpful, positive and friendly…the kind of person who, in just one brief encounter, can make your day. Thanks, Yolanda, for all you do for each of us and our customers.

The brief podcast linked in this issue offers practical advice to exercise good mental health when you find yourself in a crisis. I encourage you to listen and find ways to spread gratitude, positivity, grace and hope...it's contagious!

We are getting a number of inquiries each day through AskAlliance. These often result in good lead generation for our products and services. If you have banking questions or otherwise, email us at AskAlliance. That’s why we are here, so just ask us!

If you haven’t already, please go to our Alliance Bank Central Texas Facebook page. Like it, Share it, and repeat!

20 Questions in 60 Seconds

Yolanda Reynaga has been in banking for nearly 20 years, the last six as part of our Alliance family. Family is very important, both at home and in the workplace, and she enjoys going the extra mile for others. Read below to learn about one of her favorite professional endeavors, an outdoor activity she loves, an indoor activity she hates, and more.

1. How long have you been in banking and what roles have you held?

I have been in banking for 18 ½ years  and have served in bookkeeping, teller operations, and new accounts.

2. When did you join the Alliance Bank Central Texas team?

November 2013

3. What is your current role at Alliance Bank Central Texas?

New Accounts Representative

4. What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

I truly enjoy the work that I do, working alongside great coworkers to help our customers. It’s also fulfilling to provide for my family doing something I love.

5. How do you like to motivate others?

By maintaining a positive and supportive attitude.

6. What do you think is the key to customer service?

Giving it my all, all of the time. Treating customers as I would want to be treated is always top of mind.  When I go above and beyond, my customers get the care they need and I feel honored to be a part of helping them. It’s win-win!

7. What has been your favorite project/milestone at the bank so far?

Watching the bank grow and seeing growth in myself as well. I was given the opportunity to take a class focused on honing customer service skills.

8. Over the years, what changes have you seen that have most impacted the industry?

Customer service. Many people have gone online for many of their banking needs.  While customer service may look a bit different in the digital space, it remains a key component in meeting our customers’ needs.

9. What would you say is the most important facet of workplace culture?

Teamwork!

10. What is your favorite thing about working at Alliance Bank Central Texas?

The family-like environment.

11. If you had not gone into banking, what profession might you have chosen?

Social worker

12. What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I enjoy doing outside work cutting grass and using the weed eater. I also change the oil in my vehicles.

13. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?

Spend time with my daughter.

 14. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Learn how to use a saw to be able to build things.

15. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

Secure my daughter’s college.

16. What would you name the autobiography of your life?

The Great Life of an Independent Mother

17. If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Pocahontas

18. What is something you learned in the last week, month or year?

Always be kind and have an open heart; you never know what battles other people are fighting.

19. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?

Outdoor work around my house.

20. What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Cleaning my fridge.

Be Contagious During A Crisis

About Alliance Bank Central Texas

Alliance Bank Central Texas is a community bank founded by a local board of directors, owned by a diverse group of over 200 shareholders, and operated by seasoned bankers, most of whom have spent their entire careers in Waco.  In less than ten years it has seen assets grow from $35 million to over $300 million. The bank is focused on helping entrepreneurs, professionals and residents, and understands the condition of the local market.  It feels real value is created through people connecting personally with their bankers, versus simply having transactions with a bank. Alliance Bank Central Texas provides a full range of financial services including business, personal and mortgage loans.  It also provides a variety of deposit products and services including commercial, personal and certificates of deposits along with electronic banking, mobile deposit and cash management services.
