The Bank Note - June 2021
Connecting with Shareholders of Alliance Bank Central Texas
June 2021
Message from Todd Moore
Have you ever known a person who the more time you spend with them, the better you like and respect them? That’s how I feel about Sherman Ayres. Sherman entered the Mars, Incorporated company through an entry level position with a subsidiary company at the age of 19. Over his 31 year career, he rose to plant manager of their largest manufacturing facility, located here in Waco. He has a wealth of business knowledge and an understanding of the human element in what we do. The bank is very fortunate he agreed to serve on our board.
We love our entrepreneurs and their business stories. Five Star Painting of Waco is a family owned and operated business that started from scratch. They have enjoyed success by taking care of their customers and their homes. They take pride in their work and love the Waco community. Give them a try!
Can you run a mile in four minutes and ten seconds? I sure can't and neither can most people in this world. Bacilio did. He still holds the State record in Texas for the 5A division (the largest at the time), which has held for over 40 years. And, he still uses that work ethic and mindset on behalf of the bank and our customers. Thanks, Bacilio, for all you do.
We are really excited about the opportunity we have to branch into the Temple/Belton/Killeen market through Tyler Johnson joining our bank. Please see the welcome announcement in this issue and you will quickly understand why he is such a great addition to our team. Our strategy is to not simply pick an area to open a bank. It is to hire the best of the best banker, and then build a bank around that person and his or her team. That is what we have in Tyler.
I hope your summer has kicked off well and you are able to find some time for vacationing with family and friends. Go out and make some memories and new friends! And, as always, call on us if you need us for anything, banking or otherwise. It’s why we’re here! Hit us up at AskAlliance@alliancebanktexas.com or give me a call on my cell at 254-722-2300.

PPP Update
PPP Forgiveness
It’s that time again! If you received your PPP loan through our bank, you may now be eligible to apply for forgiveness. For Second Draw loans, borrowers can choose a covered period of eight to 24 weeks. Once your covered period is over and you have exhausted your PPP funds on allowable expenses, you are eligible to apply for forgiveness. If your loan amount was less than $150,000 and you used all your proceeds on allowable expenses without decreasing wages and employees, you may likely use the 3508S form to apply for forgiveness. Most other borrowers will be eligible to use the 3508EZ. The longer form, 3508, will be used by borrowers who had to make a larger reduction in their employees’ hours, wages, or positions. There are many exceptions and scenarios affecting which form you may use. Please read the instructions and understand the representations you are making when submitting the appropriate form.
You may find links to the forms at
www.alliancebanktexas.com/ppp. If you have questions regarding which form you are eligible to use, please feel free to call us at 254-741-8000 or
