November 2019

Message from Todd Moore

I love the quote from Ashley Beard from In the Spotlight, “What’s unique to Halo are the answers we help provide that can translate to results.” That would be a great slogan for our bank or any service business!  She’s such an energetic, positive person to be around, and we can never surround ourselves with too many people like her. We wish them great success in this new venture.

Betty and Benjy Bauer were recognized as Philanthropists of the Year this month. They have done so much, for so many, for so long; it’s really well deserved and we are so proud to have them associated with our bank.  Benjy serves as our board chairman.

As you see, there is a lot of commerce going on in our city. Business banking and commercial real estate drives much of what we do in the bank. Please let us know if you have a project, purchase, refinance or expansion coming up. And, we certainly need help with raising deposits. Our treasury management team especially likes helping companies with operating accounts to become more efficient in their processes, saving them time and money.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

If you haven’t already, please go to our Alliance Bank Central Texas Facebook page. Like it, Share it, and repeat!

Alliance Bank - In the Spotlight

Halo Athletic Center
5725 Bagby Ave. Woodway 76712

Halo Athletic Center is brand new to Waco, and it’s taking the health and fitness experience to a different level. Complete with a fun, vibrant urban atmosphere, this athletic center offers a wide variety of amenities, including indoor and outdoor activities, state-of-the-art equipment, yoga and more.  Click below to read more about how this team’s combined 70+ years of athletic training and study is helping Central Texans set and achieve fitness goals.

Q: What drew you to opening Halo Athletic Center?

Halo started with a desire to share our passion for fitness and athleticism with others. We want people to have a place to enjoy an athletic lifestyle, no matter their age or experience.

Q: What  makes the fitness experience unique at Halo?

It’s not the equipment, though we have state-of-the-art equipment. It’s not the facility, though we have a top-notch urban atmosphere, unique to the Central Texas area. Our location is fantastic, which is always a plus. But what’s unique to Halo are the answers we help provide that can translate to results.

Halo Athletic Center offers a comprehensive coaching method of bringing stamina, strength, agility and general physical preparedness into the lives of our members. The training experience is different, because it’s guided by coaching. We want our members to work smarter, not harder. Knowing when and how to apply change, when to push, when to relax are all part of the coaching members receive. Our combined 70+ years of athletic training and study offers members access to creative solutions that will help them meet their fitness goals throughout their lifetime--from foot drills for high school sports, to balance drills for the golden years and everything in between.

Q: What makes the customer experience unique?

We love building relationships with our members. It’s a gym where everyone knows your name. As soon as you walk through our doors, you’re personally greeted by us! We want to know about your weekend, how your kiddos are, and how we can help you set and achieve fitness goals.

Q: What changes do you most commonly see as people roll through the decades?

The perspective is different for different people. And that’s what we love about Halo. We can meet you where you are!

For people in their 20’s, it may be about physical beauty and athleticism. With our 30s, we want continued progress, but life tends to start adding responsibilities. When the 40s hit, while still very capable, your body may say it needs a bit a rest. Ah, the 50’s, you still have it, but time to focus on preserving health, joints and movement. The 60’s is about minimizing the damage. The 70’s is about quality of life, easing aches and pains, and keeping your body in motion. With the 80’s and 90’s, it’s about balance, movement. And for those of us lucky enough to make to our 100s, we’re partying like Rock Stars, because we’ve earned it. No matter your motivation to move, just commit to it! Putting in the work at any age will help you reach fitness goals for years to come.

Q: What additional amenities are available at Halo?

We provide state-of-the-art equipment, locker rooms and showers and towel service. Our facility is under 24-hour surveillance, with an indoor and outdoor track, outdoor sandpit, outdoor covered lifting area, patio seating, rentable office spaces for small wellness businesses, and Duality Yoga inside the studios.

Q: What keeps you energized about going to work each day?

t’s the smiles! We love helping our members live a happy, healthy life.

Q: And finally, when you are not at the gym, what are your favorite pastimes?

You will find Jody and Ashley spending time with their family and traveling. As for Kyle, family time, reading and gaming keep him busy.

Time, Talent, Treasure

During the 31st annual National Philanthropy Awards Luncheon, Betty and Benjy Bauer, were recognized by the Central Texas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as Philanthropists of the Year. They have dedicated their time, talent and treasure to impact the lives of many throughout Central Texas. We are honored to have Benjy serve as chairman of our board of directors. Thank you both for being such excellent examples of compassion and generosity.

Construction Corner

With tremendous progress being made to the exterior, our new headquarters is really taking shape! The windows are installed, the PVC roof is fully installed, and the tile roof installation started last week. Additionally, the heating and AC units have been placed on the roof and the exterior stone is being installed. And a lot is happening on the inside, too. The drywall is about 75% complete and the interior floor stain will begin this week.

About Alliance Bank Central Texas

Alliance Bank Central Texas is a community bank founded by a local board of directors, owned by a diverse group of over 200 shareholders, and operated by seasoned bankers, most of whom have spent their entire careers in Waco.  In less than ten years it has seen assets grow from $35 million to over $300 million. The bank is focused on helping entrepreneurs, professionals and residents, and understands the condition of the local market.  It feels real value is created through people connecting personally with their bankers, versus simply having transactions with a bank. Alliance Bank Central Texas provides a full range of financial services including business, personal and mortgage loans.  It also provides a variety of deposit products and services including commercial, personal and certificates of deposits along with electronic banking, mobile deposit and cash management services.
